I keep on trying to do this but it always sounds trite. Latest attempt:
I prefer; classic bikes to crotch-rockets, a country pub with a few friends to a loud party, a camp-fire to a fashionable bar, X-Country skiing in Scandinavia to downhill in the Alps, hill walking to crowded beaches, films by Jim Jarmusch or Aki Kaurismäki to those of James Cameron and Sam Raimi and Radios 3 or 4 to 1 or 2.
I'm think I'm; friendly, generous, can be quiet and shy, (sometimes too) sensitive, caring, loyal, angered by injustice, self-deprecating, occasionally witty, geeky, honourable and principled (although I do understand the necessity of Realpolitik at times).
I'm up for almost anything at the moment as I adjust to my new circumstances.
All of which makes me sound dreadfully pretentious, so it still isn't right.
