While I browse the forums I often read the chat, in the chatroom, and notice that a lot of folk are also watching the telly, on the phone or replying to mail while chatting or worse still DRUNK!    I dunno about anyone else but that really irritates me when it happens when I'm in the chatroom.   Am I too sensitive? Do I expect too much when entering a chatroom to have a chat?! I don't expect a 'Prime minister' style debate but if you enter the CHATroom the least you can do is CHAT surely?

Kwak, YES you are very sensitive!! I can tell you that 100%.  lol. No I wouldn't care at all if people were dashing off every now and then, I do it myself if I go in the chat.   And some people don't logout, they just close the window which leaves them logged in for 15 minutes.

Aww bless ya Red, with practice you'd get quicker. As for spelling errors it doesn't matter as long as we know what the person is trying to say, and if we don't we can ask them. BM has a few staff but no spelling police.   One way to practice is to use MSN chat, one to one, then your speed picks up.

Usually people will type brb if something comes up or needs to be seen to, I know formyself it means I can come back and see what has been said whilst I was away,

if I am going to be away for a while tho I will say be back later and log out

In chat room drunk,or maybe its subline messages that go to the dark side of the back of beyond, communicating to a secret society on how the new world is going to rise from the ashes of the old. Whoops kind of got a way from me a bit that one best to stop there i think tee hee. Just to annoy Kwak will have to go round in the middle of the night and line up all the garden gnomes on the path then ring the door bell and run off.

Yes, you are being too sensitive, apart from anything else there is occasionally whispers going on, which makes it look like nothing is happening. So what if I am drunk occasionally?, that merely effects my spelling and typing, so what if I have to answer the phone?

Unless of course all you are doing is trying to wind us all up??, if so Tongue

Having read all the posts here, I reckon the safest bet is to log into chat, open with "brb" and go to the pub/cupboard under the stairs (optional) whilst one of the staff deals with staying logged in, in a pre-determined manner, every 14min 55secs .... thus creating the illusion of lurking ....WHICH I DON'T !!

lolz... @ miss and flat   sorry to be blunt, but i think you are being to sensitive... like shadow said... people are sometimes whispering etc. personally i think its funny when members come into chat under the influence.. ahem *wheely* they are doing no harm to anyone and after all the laughs usually on them.   and quite often chat freezes and can take up to 20 mins to get back into the room..   lifes way to short to take chat that serious lol... its supposed to be a fun and light hearted activity.. Smile
