Nina   This months Bike magazine have a list of current models with a low seat height (780mm/30inch or lower).   Included in these are the Ducati Monster 695, Harley Sportster, Honda CBF500 and the Suzuki GSF650 Bandit.  All have a seat height of about 770mm apart from the Harley which is only 720mm.   These still sounds high, but the suspension could be set to around 50mm sag easily which would leave a seat height of about 720mm for the main three.  This is about 28 inches which should be low enough.   I wouldn't suggest you get anything bigger than about 600cc because of the weight.

There is a company in Hull called Drop Raise Services in Hessle Road/Hull Road I think, who specialise in just that I'm sure they have a web site by now if not I'm sure they are in the book and would offer advice over the phone to what they may be able to drop differant bikes by :o)

I missed this thread! Handy Big smile   Let a fellow shortstop know how you get on... I love the baby blade anyway, always have done and know I can quite happily get my leg over one of them, & damn it looks good on me!!! LOL   Assuming I can get through the test OK though, I will be shopping around.   Best of luck to all you guys (girls) going for it!

Not sure if this is any use but whilst i was in Florida i saw quite afew kits for lowing bikes, their was one i saw that lowered a R6 by 2 inches so it can be done but then again if you take any bike to a decent place like, izek of Newton or spondon and such like they can take off the link arms on the suspension and make new shorter one up for you, hope this helps? if not just tell me to go away. Check out Streetfighter magazine for places that do all sorts of engineering work on bike aswell!!

Check out the Yam Virago 535. Seat height 27.6". Weight 400lb. Lots of good 2nd hand examples about, and cheap as chips.

Although the Virago 535 has a LOW seat height I found the bike too heavy for me.

wheres always away to lower anything,it's just figuring the best option and the  least  amount of chopping about.   tony ps find the bike fisrt then go from there
