150 mph.  SHOCKING.

150mph on an X7 yeah right LOL     I had one of those and the only way that thing could do 150 is being towed by an F1 race car or dropped off out of a helicopter at 200 feet   Even my CBX-6 could just about touch that in a straight line in 1984

I remember the X7 being the first 250 to do over 100mph, but 150? . . . .

I don’t get it with people (not knocking anyone) going on about speed and bikes. If you want the ultimate speed life-changing experience, jump out of an aeroplane! Even in a flat and stable position you will attain a speed of 120mph. An unstable or track position you’re looking between 180 to 200mph. IMHO twisties are far more enjoyable.

My X7 had Allspeed expansion pipes, lovely crackle to the exhaust note and you certainly heard it coming!       Wouldn't go faster than 80 though! LOLCost more in rebuilds than in petrolLOL

(I remember the X7 being the first 250 to do over 100mph) I had in my youth a 1968 250 T20 supersix suzuki and that would do over the ton, ok only about 105- 107 ish acceleration was rapid , all my mates had british stuff and they struggled to keep, (not slaggin the brits off mind)

Clap Well said boody

Apart from testosterone filled males, mainly who have only just started shaving, but have to use a blunt razor or they end up with a face that's cut to shreds, and only have to do it once a month, who cares if anyone has done 150 ?

the only guarantee any of us have is that we're going to die, so aiming to stay alive is a moot point!
also, most of the posts have been left by people of a certain age so i'm sure they shave regularly.   if youre not interested in discussions re 150mph, why read a forum based on the subject??

X7 may do 150 if you drive it off a very high cliff at 100mph+ !! Thumbs Down   CBX - bloody awesome machine in its day 70mph just about in first gear and wheelied like nobodies (dont do wheelies anymore) Smile   for most people its about the acceleration not the final top end, though 130+ is useful. Big smile   i would also add its not only blokes that like to go fast, there are plenty of fast girls (ride motorcycles that is) out there Wink

I was not ridiculing anyone, I was making a comment on a post & stating a personal opinion, which as far as I am aware I am entitled to have & do. Thumbs Up

Unless we all of a sudden are living in a police state ... I know the MODS & Matt get some stick for being strict ... But I dont think they have gotten THAT bad LOL

I agree it can be thrilling ... however, past comments in other posts on 'idiot kids', 'prats doing stupid speeds on unsuitable roads', riders being charged with murder/manslaughter cos they have been part of a group that has had a crash & people have been killed ...

I just ask do we REALLY need to be glorifying it, and saying what fun it is in a forum that is (as soldier says) a very public forum ??
