Erm... Satan's Slaves are Satan's Slaves. Hells Angels are Hells Angels.

Shoot me down in flames if you like, but frankly, if I were organising a show such as this and a bunch of people wanted to do something at it to raise money for their own do, I'd tell them to sling it, no matter how politely they asked.

If it was fundraising for a charity, I'd be cool with it, (if approached prior to the event) but not to raise money for another event.

Do it, by all means, but don't piggyback on someone else's hard work, advertising and all the rest of it. Arrange your own time & place. Common courtesy IMO.

Wannabe has the right answer to that. Ask first or do it somewhere else. Very good advice that should need heeding. And yes SS are not HA and vice versa. Best to know the difference.

we have said wannabe about doing it at a bm do...it was just a suggestion that someone made re the show at squires....so i dont think anyone is trying to piggyback on anyones show etc...just trying to raise funds , they could always make a contribution to a charity of the organiser choice too.....it was all meant to be a bit of fun for everyone...even i...yes fat old me was willing to get my top off..now that is scary....everyone is entitled to a opinion, but it was meant for fun...life can get so serious sometimes.

By all means, go ahead and do it then.

I'm just saying that's how I would personally feel if I'd put in the hours of graft to organise a show. I'd say no to you.

Not trying to spoil your fun.

When I do my stall at events, I ask the organisers for permission to display flyers for other events that I will be at. So far, they've all been fine with that, but I wouldn't dream of asking them if I could put out a collection box to raise funds for another event.

Respect. Doesn't cost a penny. If that's taking it too seriously, I'm happy to be too serious Wink

wannabe...get off that soapbox....lol...it stemmed from maintanence day, i dont think anyone is going ahead, and after my first visit to squires on sunday, i am sure no one would dream of upsetting the owners or organisers...i know about respect in business lou, i have two shops and know it pays not to step on peoples toes. but it was just a idea somone had, so if that person put it to cassie or anyone else i am sure they would go through the right channels to make sure permission was in place......my wannabe soap box in the dogs bo**ocks lmao

You could always ask the organisers if you can do it at their show in return for a few friendly beers at the Ure Welcome rally. More money over the bar as well.

i rekon that might be a good idea, if sum1 wants to volunteer to ask the slaves if we can hold it within their weekend and do their bikes for free tho they might not like the idea of sum1 they dont know touching their bikes, still worth a shot, the worst they cud do is say no...in it????   as for wet t shirt...only if the sun is out plz

sorry to rain on your parade guys but the friendlies are all about changing peoples perceptions of bikers and doing a wet t-shirt bike wash is not going to achieve that, there are alot of women on this site who wont get involved with bike clubs or ride outs because of the image certain bike clubs have. So i for 1 won tbe volunteering for this, by all means a mixed group of people doing a bike wash with no wet t-shirts in site is a great fund rainsing ideaThumbs Up

I think Caz has a very good point.   I've seen more women moving from being mere pillions to actually riding their own bikes whilst a member of BM than out of all the other bike "clubs" I've been a member of.   We should be encouraging women to believe that they too can ride their own bikes rather than only being capable of the stereotypical "trophy" pillion image.   Perhaps having fellas doing a wet T-shirt bike wash may indeed be the way forward.  But before anyone asks, I'm already doing my embarrassing bit for this with the "riding through town in a dress" thingie lol!!!!*       * The raising of £500 prior to the rally proviso still applies lol!

I was doing a good impression of a wet t-shirt entrant yesterday after riding back in all that rain. LOL   My new goretex gear didn't leak BUT my neck tube soaked up all the water and transferred it through to my clothes. Fortunately it was only on the last mile that I thought - my chest feels a bit wet. Geoff took a photo as evidence as at first we thought the jacket must have leaked but closer inspection showed it hadn't.
