Time check!  What time we meeting?  And is that fixed in stone? (Considering the 2.5 hour wait last Sun hee hee LOL)

In order to get to Richmond for 11, Rachel and I will be leaving Pontefract for around half nine.

Everyone   We have people meeting us at our house and in order to avoid any delays, I am suggesting we don't meet at Squires.   Instead, I'd suggest meeting just off the M1 Jct 47 at around quarter to ten.  Heading north on the M1, leave at Jct 47 and turn right on the roundabout towards Castleford/A656.   Immediately as you leave the roundabout, there is an area of hard standing on your left (literally on the bend) where we will meet.   GPS Co ords - N53 48.263 W1 21.658

Hi to all Tan Hill riders , this morning at about 9 i decided to do this run and meet up with you at the Richmond meeting site , i had a nice easy run up the A1 and turned off into Catterick ,rode through the town and climbed back onto the A1 until the Richmond exit at the Scotch end? roundabout , went into the hotel and asked for directions to Castleford A656 rd , they could'nt help me so i told the receptionist that i'm heading for Tan Hill ...and her eyes lit up ! everyone knows where Tan Hill is she says ..its the highest waterhole in the UK , so i followed the A66 until a left turn onto a dual carriageway , this eventually brought me to a small sign pointing to Tan Hill , i finally reached the Inn at 12h00 exactly ...got myself a 1/2 pint of lager (thirsty at this stage) and struck up a chat with a big man by the name of Dave , at 12h45 i decided to have a slow ride back to York on the opposite rd down from the Inn heading towards Richmond ...smooth sailing from there all the way back home , sorry i missed you all but i'm sure there will be many more rides and meet up's in the future . Billy

Sorry we didn't make it, had a little ride out last night to see how my ankle was holding up ... 30 miles later we got home & when took my boot off it was that swollen I looked like I was related to the elephant man !!   As I see the specialist tomorrow Ian thought a 300+ mile ride today may not be the best idea we have ever had lol   Hope you all had a good ride out x

thanks for today, great little ride from richmond to tan hill with some nice people.. Sorry I ducked out at Tan Hill but you were heading the wrong way for me, gotta do some chuffing work this afternoon cos I'm flying early morning. Next time I'll manage it better, and maybe I'll meet that scary Julie woman if she gets there, ( I only went today cos she told me to :) - nah not really ).  Update on the Huge - Givi luggage - only one loose bolt after 100 miles of bouncing, but it was one of the four main wingrack bolts... Time for a shedload of spring washers before touring scotland methinks. (Then get the awful stuff unbolted ASAP!!)

We all made the hairpin safe and sound! Still think I prefer it going up though.   Another brilliant ride-out. Great to meet some new people too.   Thank you to everyone who covered my tail at anytime.   Sorry we missed you two guys.

I should have waited another 15 min or so then , but big Daves friends arrived at 12h45 and they moved inside to park off and listen to the band i think ...still FJ i was'nt expected , this being a spur of the moment decision....i really wanted to get a feel of the bike with a nice ride and check the brakes , handling , fuel consumption etc , i was pleasantly surprised , filled up with 12 quid in York and she took another 12 in Richmond so 24 quid for 163 miles ! is this good or bad ? I was doing about 75 m/p/h on the motorway and other bikes belted past me . Big Dave said he would mention that i was there if he sees a group come in , all in all a nice solo ride just a pity i missed all by 30 odd minutes .

Yet another cracking day out, grommit, grommit. Thanks Geoff, rebbit rebbit.    Shame about the Sunday drivers & the tractors. And somebody needs to have a word about customer service to that stroppy waiter at the Tan Hill Inn. I might just do that.   Still, I had a blast (got told off, too) - Stop Press! Old boy Virago rider gets wrist slapped for 'speeding'. LOL   Missed Suzi's 'sheep' incident, but had to larf when a seagull landed on the road 100yds in front of her...an she hit the anchors!LOL   Small non-start incident outside Massam, but a stare from Stella soon fixed it.   The big question - where next? N Wales/Anglesey or The Lakes?

Now then, be honest Mr XK Sir ... don't forget to tell peeps about your "Why You Should Park Your Motorcycle In Gear" lesson!   I have to say, a lesser man would have gone down!

The lamb incident! Of course, as luck would have it (for Cathy), there is a large obstruction in between her and my camera; more specifically Blueboy!   Still good to watch though.
