  Looks like the system doesn't like moving to the New Year, the events calendar won't show the events, an error message showed but I wasn't able to copy it, it said it was a run time error so I assume its just the change to 2009 that's causing the problem.

problem kinda fixed.  Well, bypassed really.   Cos we've moved into January, it doesn't like finding the names of the previous 3 months.  So i've removed the option of the previous 3 months from the drop-down.   I'll figure it out when im back home on Monday
