Still not working right I just tried to remove my offer of a lift and all I get is the error page. Lost interest now along with lots of others.

Lift request and offer deleted, JP.

It may be that you didn't have admin access rights to remove it.

Either way, it worked for me. Checked both sites - they look correct.

I don't think the process has changed that much since it was first introduced.

I'm guessing that once the request is placed, it stays permanently open.
If it's accepted, it will then stay on the event as confirmed.

To be honest, it's the first time I've deleted one.
If anyone gets stuck with deleting theirs for some reason, I would suggest a message to a mod.
It's no problem.

Looking at the impressive list of offers for pillions, it might be cool to see the open offer option brought back.
I don't know why it was removed as a choice in the first place.
I'll take a guess that it caused duplicates.

Let's see what we can do to bring it back soon.

Good to know we are half way there in getting this conundrum sorted 👍.😀

The 'offer' a lift option is really needed for events. The list of 'offers' on the threads is handy but the ability to 'offer' a lift without a 'request' on the events will be an easy way to 'match up' as the 'offer' will be specific to the event it is on. As distances between the event and members are shown, members can see who are closest to them and thereby the initial approach/ acquaintance much easier.

Hope it gets sorted quickly as it really is the cornerstone of Pick Up A Pilly Day, as well as all the other events.

I must admit I was looking forward for Nick to show up on JP's bike and was wondering which bike JP was going to bring.
My money was on the Harley, so there would be lots of throbbing.

Agreed, Lindsay - it does look handy.

But...if it's been missing for a while...it's unusual for Matt to remove a feature without it being discussed.
Anyone know why it was removed?
I foresee some confusion over the difference between offers and requests.
Maybe we can use different icons - but I'm wondering if it was causing more problems than solutions.

@Ragnar - the image is surreal. The throbbing...I'm sure I've got a music mix for that :)

Any news on this one Matt/Nick?

Jeez, it's difficult enough for me trying to get a lift without the complications mentioned in this thread. 😕

Still as as straightforward as usual, Sandi.

You want a lift to an event?
Request one in the events section.

IT WOULD BE GOOD IF SANDI COULD CHOOSE FROM A NUMBER OF LIFTS OFFERED !!!

Yes - it would :)

Let's hope there are lots of riders going with an available seat from the right locality.

There appear to be lots of options so far, according to the forum.

No need to shout 555...I'm right here :)

In truth, I don't think it's a showstopper. It's been missing for a while now...and the lift arrangements still function.

Although I can help influence; I don't organise the diary.
Stay tuned for updates as they occur.

Hi Paul, I understand your frustration and annoyance that this issue hasn't yet been fully addressed.

Nick, with all due respect the offers option may well have "been missing for a while" however the backbone of Pick Up A Pilly relies on the offers from kind riders! Which is currently not possible other than when a request is made.

It's great that pillys can request a lift but I'm sure that the offers would gain more involvement and a higher attendance at the actual event.

I truly believe that many pillys would be happier to accept an offer of a seat rather than put themselves out there by requesting one (there are a couple that I personally know of).

Matt, can we please have a resolution or at least your input on this one please? I raised it on 30.12.17 as a concern and we aren't really much further on except that the request n offer now at least show the correct information.

I realise you are busy but surely one of the most well attended BM events should be given the opportunity to be just as successful as in previous years?
