  The DSA has released a list of machines officially recognised as suitable for the new ‘A2’ motorcycle test.   From January 19th, all new riders under 24 years of age will have to spend time restricted to 47bhp with an A2 motorcycle licence before graduating to unrestricted machines.   The DSA stressed that its list of A2-compatible bikes was not comprehensive and continues to grow.     Bikes officially suitable for the new ‘A2’ bike test BMW G650GSBrough SuperiorGilera Fuoco 500Honda FX650, NC700, Shadow, SLR650 and VT750SHusqvarna TR650 Strada and Terra (restricted), TE449 and TE511Kawasaki ER5, ER6-F, ER6-N, Versys, VN900, (all restricted) and W800KTM Duke 690 (restricted) Moto Guzzi V7Suzuki GSX650F, Gladius, SV650, VL800, VZ800 (all restricted) and GS500Yamaha MT-03, TMAX, XT660R, XT660Z Tenere and YP400 Majesty.   Link to the new rules video  http://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...j_4

quite a realistic list i think. Most of us would have had a mid range bike for a while after passing our test. I was expecting something a lot worse. But i would like to know how many new riders can afford a brough superior, i know i would like one.

  Well I think ...............   It just shows who has influence over the ministry's choice Shocked   What a "random" marque to throw into the list Wacko   Highly paid civil servants or well off city types Ermm   The type who buy a Brough as an "investment" Wink   Which keeps the price artificially high Angry   Because they are not that rare, there are loads still in existence Disapprove   But they only change hands among those lucky few with the money Unhappy   Or among the select band of the Brough Owners Club Cry   New ones are being "resurrected" every year Confused   But rarely end up being owned by mere mortals Sick
