A common phrase around our station at the minute is: Due to cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off Or: You fight to get to the light at the end of the tunnel then you find its just a man with a torch lost in the same tunnel you are!

What emzed said about work being a means to an end is true, I at the moment am putting in all hours I can in order to get my life straightened out. If I was like most of my colleagues, who are a great bunch of blokes,I wouldnt want the hours, but then I wouldn't see the light at the end of OMNF's tunnel.
Secondly, I would not be getting my bike back on the road next year, after needing to spend a considerable amount of cash on parts to make it road worthy again.
I am lucky in the fact that the hardest part of my job is getting out of bed each day, and also that I enjoy what I do, the third reason I work so many hours is that I get paid a shitload of money every month to compensate for the effort I put in.
Not everyone likes or enjoys their job, I know, I hated the job I was doing 20+ years ago, so I did something about it and have never looked back.
