My most memorable ride would have to be my first long distance ride (and still longest to date) , 2 months after passing my DAS. On a GS500 complete with wife, camping gear, n luggage , with only a rack, had no panniers at the time .

Went from Basingstoke to Dunbeath Caithness 679miles heading for the Booze Spewz n Snooze Rally in October (it's on this weekend , having to miss it this year) . Rode overnight , was a great ride till we crossed the border into Scotland and hit freezing fog , rode for 70miles with the visor open as it had frost inside and out , stopped at my parents(Laggan Bridge near Newtonmore) for a few hours to thaw out, then completed the journey in the afternoon sunshine was still cold tho . Got furthest travelled trophy which made it feel all worthwhile . 8 years have flown past
