Just a thought, prompted by first experiences thread, would anyone be interested in a day at NMM?
I've looked at their website it's open 7 days a week,9.30--5.30.
Admission is £8:95 Adult,£6:95 for seniors +children 5--16 years old.
Discounts available(no details yet) for groups of 10 or more.
I realised I have driven past it loads of times as a taxi driver BUT never been there.
I thought it may be a pleasant way to spend the day before the Christmas party in Brum on 8th December, anyone interested?

Went before and after the Fire, great place, I can't go on the 8th though as I'm working in the Day, but worth the visit if you've never been before!

Had a pm,could those who would be interested let me know whether Sat 8th OR Sun 9th would be better.I suggested Sat cos some folk may have "hangovers" on Sunday, but been mentioned some people may not arrive until just before party. If we can get some numbers we can get details of discounts.

I can do a Sunday, When I'm Sober .

Does anyone know if the Triumph Bonneville (for the American market) and the BSA Bantam D7 (red) are still in one piece or did the fire get them?
Last time I was at the museum, shortly before the fire, there was a fella polishing the Bonne and last time I'd seen one of those was in the 1970s; the fella I lived with had one. My first bike was the Bantam D7, 175cc.

Nether are very rare so I would think if thay were lost wouldn't be to difficult to replace them

Sandi, according to website they have a red 1959 Bonnie in there,(dunno if it's american market),it's supposed to be the "biggest and best motorcycle museum in the world" gotta be worth a visit!

Been a while since i was last there but enjoyed it, shame i am double booked that weekend, but my niece is dunking her babies head lol so i need to go be life guard :)
Sandi
Loner, no the Bonne was black, it was the Bantam that was red, the one in the museum, my Bantam was black.
Taken from the internet:
‘T120R’ was how the US market Bonneville was coded – as opposed to the simple T120 moniker applied to UK machines. Differences between UK and US market variants were in truth few; a different sized fuel tank and handlebars was about all really; prior to 1969 US models had shorter silencers and no parcel grid but both of these items became UK-standard issue in 1969 too.
