A friend of mine who owns and runs a successful (and well known) motorcycle touring company replaced his last Blackbird (of three I believe) with a CBF1000.

As you can imagine for someone who organises and escorts trips all over Europe (and other places), he does a lot of miles, most of which are two up and he has nothing but praise for his CBF.

I'm pretty sure he's replaced it this year for a K1300GT but he won't admit it to me in case I make fun of him for leaving Honda lol!

How did you find it anyway?

Yeah I've got one, good points,,,,, very comfy 300 mile journey in total downpour, no problem.

Steering slowish but very stable.

bad points ,,,, minimum feedback thru the bars

acceleration is ok but runs out of steam at 140.

All in all I quite like mine, It's very capable within it's limits. It's no sports bike , it's no sports tourer but on the current crop of 'sit up and beg with a fairing' it's better than some, worse than others.
