Wenders to be fair I think people started realising it was a wind up and dropped out of the craic.  Now then , dangly bits, since you brought it up. I think you'll find men have large dangly bits and it's women that have little dangly bits.Isn't this what helps them stay on yhe back of the bike so well , suction.

Dusty!!!! Don't push it!!!!!! LOL

I'm a reformed ms angry lol...................
Never was angry just opinionated and bite easily lol

Now young man, i think men stick better to the seats cos of all the kack that comes out of their behinds when they are on their bikes cos they frightened......................................

Now, we obviously have a different opinion on matters, so lets just agree to disagree?????

Male, female, we ride bikes cos we love them, the feeling riding them gives us!!!! And the pleasure we get from being with like minded people!!!!!!!!

Thats what its all about   Thumbs Up

Dusty, you have a few contradictive comments on this thread, not just the reason/excuse debate. You change reason for excuses a number of times. Are they not the same but one more derogative? People will always have reasons to do what they do. Democratic world and all that pish equals freedom of choice, just like freedom of opinion. An excuse to you may be an legitimate reason to someone else. Who are we to judge and condemn for what they do?   The best one for me though is; you say women should not be riding bikes, yet you state that you yourself taught an ex partner to ride, and boasting that she was a very good rider that could take on most guys. Well you must have been cringing everytime you went for a ride out with her.   I also have to question why you come to a dating/social site and not consider your retorts when the whole ethics of this site is a friendly social environment in ALL aspects. Winding people up, especially your target audience purpously will like already mentioned alienate you. And none of us would want that unless truly deserved. Yeah we all like a bit of banter, but there has to be limits and we need to know where they are as to not cross them. I for one will only wind up people I have got to know on this site and understanding how far I can take it, not the general audience or specific gender as i consider that rude.   Going back to the car issue; I've been to patched rallies were even a number of it's members have arrived in cars. Would you challenge them on their ethics, loyalty or question their motives as you do the so called weekend warrior? They too will have had their excuses.   I would like to add that this is not an attack at you, just my opinioin and how I see it.   In answer to your original Q, the events run by members on this site, and someone correct me if i'm wrong, do not prejudice or restrict events to bikes only. So turn up in/on anything you see fit and road legal, and enjoy everything this site has to offer.   d-w-b-h .... in answer to your Q's on cars, i've heard a few.   1. It is to prevent the stealerers from robbing bikes or parts of. 2. Is the control of alchohol due to licensing laws for sites. 3. Cars will churn the fields more than bikes and the clubs running the rallies don't want the added expense of a hefty bill for repair. 4. Noise polution from car stereos and preventing complaints.

All BM events are open to all forms of transport inculding horse and cart if you have one We do not exclude any member due to there form of transport as there are alot of single parents on here i would be not posable for them to attend by bike. Most of the events that the midlands team organize are child friendly so all can attend I had the joy of bringing up my son on my own after his mother wakled out on him when he was 9 so I understand the issues that folk have being single with kids thats why we are child friendly The BM rally will be child and car friendly so please dont bother going if that offends yourself

Dusty, in your attempt to wind folk up , you picked the one subject which without a shadow of a doubt was bound to start a riot.   Will not matter how hard you try to convince folk that it was purely for fun, some of your comments will stay with some folk for quite a long time i am afraid.   Maybe wise to take this into consideration before attempting another 'wind up'.   First impressions last

Yes but not allowed to park anywhere near where we are LOL

seriously though

I think for a good few on here it is the only way they can get to a meet so would be a shame not to allow cars.  Also a lot have no choice due to health, medical or other reasons Thumbs Up

Is a can of worms but how would you feel if you were unable to ride a bike any more and your club said no cars to you...... not what bikers are about we look after each other Beer

Dustin, I've taken the time tonight to read every post on your thread. Fair play to you that you wanted an answer to your question relating to cars being allowed at  Bike Rallies.  It is my prerogative to ignore that question on your thread. However, what I can not and will not ignore is you neanderthal attitude, not to mention down right derogatory comment about Women not riding bikes.  Whether this was tongue in cheek as a wynd up, written in jest or not, you must appreciate that your comment is extremely offensive and I for one resent it.  In posting this thread, together with the way you have responded to people, you have presented yourself as having a personality that I certainly wouldn't want to mix with.  It is my hope that in attempt to redeem yourself, you might have the courage, decency and humility to apologise to the Women bike riders on this site.

Motorbikes for men only?????

Most of the women on here have more balls than a lot of men!

On AND off a motorbike!!!!!

As it has been said a can of worms!
I don't think being derogatory towards the fairer sex is on. Women may be referred to as the fairer sex but should never be under estimated as to their ability in life. Because guys we know they are stronger in many ways  but don't like to admit it! Riding motorcycles included.

I read through all posts and came to Wendy's post and without 1st reading on I thought Dustin had better duck. Good on you wenders you got it in one, including the thing about dangly bits. Especially related to trail bikes ouch!

I went to KISS in my van with my old Beemer in the back, plus a passenger and two lots of camping gear. My old bike does not have carriers and I am still learning to trust it on longer trips. KISS gave me a chance of  good ride out of about 100 miles round trip with a pillion and it was brilliant.

We have to remember the site is owned by Matt, he sets out the site rules regarding the use of the site not the events. The events are organised by The Events Organisers (unpaid) and the rules regarding the use of cars, will only usually be in respect of parking on the particular site. It is brilliant that families are catered for, as I know what it was like when I had a younger family, sometimes people with young kids can feel like outcasts and that's not nice. I think it's great that we all mix together, from different backgrounds and ages. The family thing has to be the way forward. The car is a way of aiding that.

There are members who have joined the site who do not own a bike but love the atmosphere of bikes and bikers. If these people don't get a lift to a rally on a bike, then are we expected to exclude them? "No we don't" and there is always a possibility that they may get a pillion on a ride out.

Finally Dustin, wind up or not, if you think that rallies should be for people who turn up on bikes only, then there is nothing to stop you from organizing your own rallies to suite your restrictions.
Good luck.

Ahhhhhhh I so want to say something but it is not worth it as the mafia will be all over it again as it always does on this subject.....it isn't worth even getting into for either the for or against!

No feck it I'm as entitled to my opinion as much as anyone else.

1. Girls on bikes....more the merrier. I know some girls who ride the length and breadth of the country in all weathers...more than most bloke 'bikers'...Katie & Karen...crazy pair...no that's not code Katie ;-)

2. Cars at rally's.... If its your only way to get there fair one....you may be sick, lame, weary..... BUT, if it's cause your shinny might get damp, or it's cloudy...then all I can say is shame on you.....

3. Do I ride a bike.? YES....do I ride to rally's .YES.....is the weather bad sometimes...YES..I have had hypothermia, and travelled the length of the country for a weekend rally..... Ask those that know me.......would it have been dry and easier in a car...YES...but then that's just not why I ride a bike, in it good or bad...it's the journey not the comfort and the extra space for a hair dryer....

Now before the usuals start dripping on me...... I don't care...I will always feel this way and if you are getting on a soap box to have a go at my opinion....remember there will be three types..
.One; Those who will bike it to the end...or it falls out from under them......
Two; those who through financial or health issues who cannot indulge...of course there is the up an coming and born again...just waiting to step into biking.............
Third; And last well that will be the Walter/ Walteress Mittys who .....well enough said... I will leave it there....

As to the original thing about cars...one reason a large number of rally's do not allow cars is a large number of those who attended in previous years were going for the 'festival experience' not a bit of interest in bikes ...those we can do without!!

Rant over. :-)
