You seem to have a large grudge against honda shell, what's to do? Smile
Watching this with interest, as I'm thinking of swopping the zx6r for something a little comfier and with a bit more touring ability, but still with some oomph and scratching ability. 2000 ish ZX9R?

Hi John, i suppose when your getting on a bit you need a more comfortable bike lol.
I'm not quite ready for the VFR800 just yet, but that seems to be a good all rounder.
I find my old K1 1000 very comfortable, having done 900 miles in 1 day, no problem. Only returns 45mpg though

Triumph Thunderbird 1600, most comfortable bike I've owned.

22 litre tank gets you 200+ miles. Around 45mpg, depending on how you ride at the time.

G650GS - All day comfort. 70mph = 70mpg.  Nice and upright, which suits my old bones.

Kwaker, i had a 51 plate Blackbird, excellent bike, mirrors are great at speed, engine is bullet proof, it was very easy to go too fast on, but i didnt push it too much as the acceleration was scary but fun too !!

I'm with bbbent. Dragstar every time Thumbs Up. I'm on my 3rd (2nd 1100). Put 40000 miles on my 650 in 3 years; Up to 700 miles a day, though 300-400 is more enjoyable. Only criticism is tank size (150-160 miles) but it's easy to forgive something so beautiful. Footplates mean you can adjust your ride position constantly and thus need fewer stops. Big bucket seat is great but wouldn't want to be a pillion.
