johnny there's a couple of lads from New Zealand and Australia who've set up in Teesside. They only do one offs and won't copy anybody elses design but they will design it for you based on an existing idea. When they've done your tattoo they tear up the transfer so no-one else will ever have the same.

My son booked a whole day sitting for £280.00 and they've done an amazing tattoo based on his own idea.

Only my opinion but tribal designs are already becoming dated and for the past ten years every man and his dog has one!

If you're looking for something totally unique with amazing quality they're deffo worth talking to. PM me for a pic of my sons tatt if you want their details Thumbs Up

I love tattoos too...and am on the look out for my next one... i too want something unique to me   Jtb - I like number 3 style...but not too keen on the design...like you and others have said, get something unique.   I went to a tattoo convention and all the tattooist had already got their 'models' booked months in advance..but some will do other tattoos if they have time   A mate i went with was lucky to get a tattoo done by a polish tattooist as he had some spare time.  He got a brilliant one-off done by an expert tattooist.   Also make sure the tattooist you go to does your kind of style...the same friend wanted a futuristic female warrior and went to a 'top' tattooist who was also at the convention, a few months before...and although it was a good tattoo...it wasnt quite what he wanted...turns out the tattooist dint like doing futuristic and specialised in portraits..     Good luck ...and if anyone can recommend a good tattooist in my neck of the woods it will be appreciated

One of my best friend's is a freehand tattooist.   He has 27 years experience and has had his own shop North of Coventry for around 25 years.   He has a woman, Laura who also works there and her colour work is particularly good, she is also a freehand tattooist, specialising in portrais but can do seriously intricate work too.   Highly recommended, compared to the people who nowadays set up shop at the drop of a hat thinking they will make a fast buck!   Loz does original or clients own designs, specialising nowadays in re-work cover-ups, caused by other people not being able to set the machinery correctly to ink to the correct depth or cause blurring of lines. Also not understanding that different skin tones react differently to tattooing and require slightly different techniques, and different parts of the body need differerent depths of needle   He is old school and doesn't advertise on the internet (I've told him he must!) He also has morals, so won't tattoo youngsters without parent's consent or drunks!   Ratty

I prefer 3 personally, but like a few others have said, not so keen on those tribal tatts.  Much prefer the Maori style.

Ady, I like your tattoos!   I've added your mates FB page to my friends, there's some great tats on there.  Was he one of the lads at the rally this weekend?   Rattay..your mate sounds like a good tattooist..and I like the sound of the lass's work, do either of them have any pics?  I would be interested in having a look at their work.   I really want another one doing..just can't decide what/where.

I like number three but over your ribs is gonna be a little keen. All I'd say is make sure you research your artist and make sure you're confident in his/her work. It's going to be one of the few things you buy that will literally be with you to the grave.   Have it designed for you, not out of a book. I good artist will work and rework the design until you are totally happy with it.   Don't forget to put the finished pics on

MH - T'other half had stonehenge done round his wrist, he's got 'em everywhere!   Said the inside of his wrist was the most painful EVER! Even compared with the inside of his elbow which he expected to be 'tender' LOL   What's the reason(s) for them not wanting to do it?

I quite like the coverage of number 3!   The arm style is ok but not so keen on the chest design, some of the ribs is ok but...its just not quite there.   Someone has kindly got a family member who designs tattoo's to do a one off design covering about half to 2/3's of the arm and on one side of chest and top of back, think I'll leave the ribs for now lol...may need some sit ups first lolLOL

Lorna (I said before Laura, sorry I know her pretty well too!), who works from Loz's shop, I'm sure has a portfolio of pics she has done. I've seen her work and it is top class as is Loz's.   She recently did one of an Indian God on an asian lady that would blow you away, it was that complex almost down in parts to a needle size so small you needed to look closely at it to see the fine detail of the work.   She also just did a flower type arrangement around a girl-friends of ours arm (I don't know what they are called!) and the colours were startling with a real crisp outline.   I have just emailed her and will post some of her work on my profile or give out her web page if she has one when she gets back to me.

Johnny, I like some 3 and 5, but think you should customise something unique to you.
