Hello

Does anyone know of any travel insurers that cover pre-existing medical conditions?

Thanks :)

I just bought diving travel insurance and have several health problems myself (2 hernias, high BP, high cholesterol, etc).  Nothing serious i suppose.  But, they didn't put my premium up - said it's fine as long as a diving doctor checks me out before diving.

my mate just had a head on with a car in Spain not his fault,he paid good money for health insurance in case of a accident on the bike when he went to the hospital they said sorry but it only covers you up to a 125 cc (small print) you must stipulate the engine size of the bike you are using and the reg: on the policy it cost him £9000.00 for a private medical flight back to blighty

sorry to hear that mate.  Send him regards from us all here.  Can you give us more info about the policy so people can avoid the same mistake?   Also, welcome to the site.  Let your mate know he can join the club for free when he's well, just tell him to contact me.

Most normal policies will only cover you for up to 125's thats the way they work unfortunately, for specific big bike cover then you got to go for specialists which obviously costs more, only one Ive used is HC travel who can be found here www.hctravel.com sorry to hear about your mate though

What's your experience of HC Travel Aled?  I've been talking to them recently about partnering up.  Would be nice to know what you think of them.  Sound nice enough over the phone

The bloke who runs it is called David Grist, he sorted my trip to US a few years ago, we had add ons from what the actual tour was and nothing was too much trouble for him. I did meet him at the bike show as well and he is a really nice bloke. Would have used him fo Oz but he didn't do anything in Western Oz. His prices do seem a bit high but you are getting a first class service off him with everything sorted, all you have to do is turn up and ride. Big smile

Prices seem ok to me, I may go on a trip with them myself when I've got my hernia fixed.  I just need internet access wherever I go which is always the problem.
