A French rider who committed 65 traffic offences in 50 minutes has got away with a £650 fine after the judge ruled police should not have looked at the onboard video he was recording at the time.

The unnamed Triumph 675 rider – whose bike will also be impounded until Christmas – reached speeds of 115mph in a 55-limit before the camera fell from his bike.

While pacing up and down the road to find it, he met a police patrol which had found the camera faster than him.

The police started proceedings after watching the video but were told by the judge they had no right to watch it.

Where did this take place? I'd guess in France as it would be handled by a magistrate rather than a judge in this country, and 55mph doesn't seem right for a UK speed limit.   He's been lucky anyway. A right plonker, or plonqueur.

I would have thought they could look at it if they found it on the road. How else would they be able to find out who it belonged too?

What a plonker! ha-ha! If you're going to do that why not get an on-board helmet cam! Much better and you can be more flexible! Too many silly people are shooting themselves in the foot by uploading things like this to YouTube etc. ha-ha.
