We're having a cracking time out here at the Bower House Inn. Good beer, good food, sensibly priced rooms, brilliant scenery and (mostly) traffic free roads.
Should we do something out here?

Zero midges, but we're out of midge season. Anyway Lakes midges ain't nothing compared to the piranha flies of Scotland or Northumberland 😱

I'm just toying with the idea at the moment, but it would be a good pub to be based at. We're running out of time for this year, although the way the weather is changing anything is possible.
I would avoid school hols anyway Dizzy, we wouldn't want to be in the Lake District when the urchins were running about.

Avoiding school holidays is good for me too as that's when I spend more time with my daughter. I'm guessing Nov to March are out on weather grounds as I have experienced ice, snow and freezing fog in the past(global warming aside.) If we're in Middleton-in-Teesdale in May what does that leave?
