This will go down like a turd on a dinner plate. The majority of members on here are male they are players and after a shag thats all, There are a few female members who are after the same thing so Im told.
So that leaves the rest of us sat here waiting for someone to post something that we can. A add to, B complain about, or C have a shit fit over.
Over the winter the site always goes dead but it is getting worse and it takes the site longer to pick up in the spring now.
For a mutilated of reason's members dont post dont go to events. So lets all get off our asses and make stuff happen.
Last year we cancelled the hallowistmus party and had loads of complaints for it but we had been saying for weeks if members dont add themselves and let us know they are coming it would be cancelled,  We had 32 names on the list we need 100 to make it happen.
Over the last couple of years we had put our own money in to cover the costs, We dont mind that if there are good numbers turning up ie 75+.
We are very lucky in the mids as we normaly get a good turn out at events but I know GBNP and others have tried to get events going and had little response.
So if you want to know why the place is dead step back and look at the forums we are our own worst enemies we moan there is nothing to do or go to but when members put rideouts on and other events nobody bothers to turn up, And the ones that do take loads of picturs of the event and post them on Facebook instead of on the events page so other members think I wish I had gone to that will go to the next one.

Easter egg runs are being arranged at a few locations go to your loace run.

Pilly day is on this year in the spring lets see if we can get 100+
at this event.

BM Kiss rally is being sorted by the Southern group this year lets all show them our surport for there hard work by getting tickts as soon as they go on sale.

There are a few camps being arranged this year why not book a days holliday at work put your tent on the bike and go chill out for the weekend.

Rant over lol.

Nice one JP, no splinters on you Big smile Ah so that's why I only get PMs from 'dirty ol men' wanting sex chat, seeing as the majority of men are nowhere near me to try for a one nighter they have to resort to the sexting, I'm devastated, I thought they really liked me Cry lol x

There are some of us that are on here to meet up and go on the rideouts. .Unfortunately in my case I generally have my kids at some point over a weekend,so it's usually a last minute decision as to whether I can make it or not. .As to the forums, I'll read the ones I'm interested in and if I feel there's a point to be made I'll add my ten bobs worth. .

Ach thanks JP, yeah fate always seems to interfere, if it wasn't lack of funds it was work commitments that stopped me, so I am the last person to ever complain about nothing to do on here or no rideouts to go out on Big smile
There's plenty of rideouts to attend for everyone from what I see, and good wee group of folks to mix with, so its maybe just lack of finance, work, kids , distance etc that stops some people. Hopefully I will be making a move to the 'mainland' later this year or as soon as, then I can join youse all properly x

enjoyed last years KISS rally. Great way to meet people, have a laugh, have a few drinks and maybe a bit of a boogie and a head bang.

it was my first last year. If you have any doubts about going, DON'T  was brilliant. Get your little pink tent on your bike and do it. (Well my tent was pink, takes a REAL man to use a pink tent.

It's the Southern shandy boys doing it this year, get down there and support their efforts.

this obviously goes for other events and ride outs, I can't do many due to work/family commitments but at least I have a go at what I can.

Enjoy !!!!     AJ

how many members who a) can and b) want to,  advertise by posting on here that they've supported it isn't the same as how have actually done so. Not everyone is a full member and not everyone wants to post everything on here.
I'm sure the petition has had a lot of support from here and that BMers have shared the FB item widely among their fellow bikers and their non-biker friends who wouldn't see it here.

Every group has its comings and goings and geographical issues too. It a forum, not a club. Those who want to join in, do. Sadly some can't but they still look in and follow things on here so as JP says, it's up to every one of us that can to keep putting up events just to provide the opportunities.

Was that a rant? Hope not Embarrassed

I'd be very interested to see what people saw the site as - primarily dating - or to meet other bikers - or just for bike chat online.

If it's for dating, then I'd expect folk to drift away and stop paying subs if they've met someone.

If it's for meeting other bikers, then it's very spread out geographically, so it's rather hit and miss. And there are other bike websites that don't charge to use the site.

If it's just for online bike chat - well, see last point!

I think a lot of people who have hung around after meeting the right person are in the minority. I also think some step back from BM in case their other half wonders why they're still on a 'dating site'....

I know Matt would like to move the site away from being primarily a dating site, towards a much more social focus, but I think that's hard to do - not only as a site with paid membership, but also against the overwhelming tide of things like facestalk....

Ive been here on and off , for years Joined 2007, primarily as a dating site,, which it was then.
It has changed over the years onto a more social forum / biker meeting place , which I personally  find enjoyable
I don't know any bike websites where can  socialise or meet up with  more local, to me ,  bikers , that are free Please point me in the right direction Mr Mike
There is only the local training schools who do stuff like arrange rides outs around here
Lot of the facebook ones are full of  sleezbags, more so than in real life Or is that because now I am old I see  more clearly ?

I quite like the fact that you can meet up with others from all over , I like the diversity  and I like the folks here and the discussions

Ive been away this time cos was in a relationship where  I became isolated and controlled and it  became a way of life not to have a life outside of that
So for me this is big group of familiarity even though lots people I know from here are no longer here.
Been here too long to leave permanently now :)

Not been on here long was a bit concerned that nothing was going on. Have now started chatting to a couple of people which is good. I joined mainly to get myself back out and talking to people and then see what happens. I can totally relate to what you say about not having a life feylin hopefully I've now restarted mine.

Hi Suzi and welcome  :)
Feel free to chat to me any time I  am on here
It can sometimes feel as though not much is happening but it is very much as JP said, we are our own worst enemy It is down to us in the end

Think this site like some others, is a bit of " you only get out what you put in "
Could to see you posting , hope to see you at one of the meets xx

But yeah first step is taking that move to speak to someone ,  or to post on a forum, then all of a sudden you realise just how much life you had lost before and wont stop grinning once you find your  own true self  again

Head up chick, good times are a coming x

After my marriage fell apart i realised that those 'friends' we shared had disappeared into the ether. So i thought what interests me and where can i find likeminded people? Et voila ... BM!

I can say hand on heart that the welcome i received was great, i soon met up with BMers (thanks to JP!) and have developed great friendships both virtual (only on threads/chat/PMs) and real (socialising). BM has got me through some dark times with banter and support a plenty. Bonus for me was i met Stuie. on the Pilly Day, i would not have done that without BM. Thanks guys :D

I suggest that any newbies take the bull by the horns, jump into chat, post on threads, PM people to break the ice and get yourselves on meets/rideouts n rallies. In the main we dont bite (unless asked), we live life to the full, enjoy a laugh/banter and nothing more than welcoming more victi ... err members to the party!

Ooh get me ... My 6666 post!
