I seem to recall a thread about a winter treatment for bikes to protect against corrosion but can't see it now. Please did anyone have this treatment and if so which company and did it help.? We are thinking we might get our bikes done as we ride whenever ! Thank you

Yep, I know all about winter. The car is ready and raring to go :-) But I think what you after is the ACF50 thing. All year biker do it for you but you can just squirt it on yourself. After a while the bike looks disgusting as all the crap sticks to it. But acf50 is between the crap and the bike protecting it. I still think a car is a better bet though...

Thanks Steve. I'll look into ACF50! Looks like that may be the right thing for us and yup the car for the days is really not bike friendly! Ta v m

Best option for winterizing your bike is push sofa to 1 side then park bike if front of radiator to keep it warm and damp free.

I like jp's option but the only problem is i can't get the rear end of the trike through the front door.

The best thing any one can do with there bike in winter is to lock it up in the garage

Yup, acf 50 and Scot oiler anti corrosion treatment. Wash the bike at least once a week with cold water. Paint the acf 50 onto parts you can not spray, also saves on waste as it is expensive.

All year biker treatment, then wash bike weekly with cold water, dab/wipe on more ACF50, look after chain, clean and oil every week too. Sees me through the winter and you'd never know I rode my bike all year round to look at it

Thanks all that's really helpful. We have had lots of great rides in winter when the roads in Wales get a quieter so parking up till spring isn't really on the cards for us. I'll follow up on the ACF thing ! Thank you .

If your bike is stuck outside you might find this helpfull.
basically a big plastic bag with silica gell inside.
Best prep is a decent set of waterproofs a new set of thermals and some decent gloves.
Keep oiling the bike that will look after itself.

Well we have had the bikes done and how smart they look . However of course time will tell if it was worth it. I will report back on that but just to say the guy who did it worked really hard to get all three bikes done well.
