It's my birthday on Saturday, and I've invited a few friends to join me on riding to Scarborough, so thought I'd open that invite out to all. It's not a formal ride, just a few of us going for ice cream to save me being Billy no mates on my birthday! PMme for details if anyone is interested.

Yes Debs, I had a crash. I was turning right and a car came fast round a bend, I put my brakes on but I was already turning, bike slipped under me and we slid to a stop by a traffic bollard. The car missed me, my left leg and shoulder took impact, so I'm battand bruised, as is the bike, but we managed to get home ok. I'm a bit shook up, crying lots but that's probably me being menopausal! It could have been worse, the car was going so fast he couldn't have stopped in time, thankfully the bike took me with it out of the car's path. I suppose if I were more experienced, I would have been turning into side road faster??

We have all done it at some point Tab so dont beat yourself up over it. Sounds like minor damage to the bike and yourself so bit of pain for you and the pocket it soon be remembered for all the right reasons
