There are two Honda CB1100R bikes been stolen, from Swiss Club members during a visit to Scotland, following our Classic TT Meet.

We bikes have been seen being used around the Edinburgh area, the Police will not intevene - not a priority!!  Where have we heard that this week. If there are any members in the Edinburgh area that can assist with reclaiming these bikes, I'm prepared to drive from Liverpool with a van to transport them to a local police station or store till they can be reclaimed by their owners.

Unfortunately the Swiss owners would rather claim through their insurance. Therefore there are 2 x rare £10k+ bikes being used by joy riders around Edinburgh available. Watch fleabay for a swamp of expensive spares. Shows what people think of their rare bikes! Rant over, now in depression!

hate to say it but more likely to be burned out than stripped and sold

That's what we have been trying to prevent. The bikes are Honda CB1100R's only 4000 bikes made, for the European and Australian markets only, between 1981 & 1983. Honda produced the bikes to win the Production Bike Championships - ridden by Joey Dunlop, Ron Haslam and Wayne Gardiner.
The police are more interested in arresting the culprits than rescuing the bikes. Fortunately one bike has been recovered and two people have been arrested.

About 80% of bikes stolen are stripped or burnt out within hours of being taken that's why the recovery rate is so low. No point getting depressed about it, If the owners don't give a toss why worry.
