I like the sound of this Thumbs Up

But we've been at Friskney several times now Embarrassed

I think it's time for a change of venue Approve

What about the Moth & Lantern that was mentioned earlier this year Ermm

It's a bit more "northerly" & might attract some of our "family" from over the border Wink

Retford nr Shefield . That ain't Northerly . As far as us Northeners are concerned it's practically cockney lol I'm also convinced that folk south of the Black Country have a definite whiff of French in their accent lol.

Most bikers fall into one of two categories.

1/ a good wknd is parking up on a friday . Getting legless all weekend. Riding home Sunday .

2/a good wknd starts when ya throw a leg over ya bike. Pitch your tent. Socialise over a couple of beers and a bbq.off to bed, up earlyish for breakfast. Spend the day riding through beautiful places . Followed by , socialise over a couple of beers etc etc .

A weekend has to be one or the other coz a compromise weekend suits no one .

60 people sitting on bikes in a traffic jam of their own making only suits the kind of people that think it's 'cool' to sit in a bike traffic jam lol.

Know your customer and specialise .

Tan hill , the highest pub in the world. (north of Watford). Is really bleak , desolate and windy lol. Mind you , MADDY PRIOR stopped off there for a pint the other week xx . A better bet would be Dent . Check it out on Google earth. There's been several bike rallies held at the High Lanning campsite. The village and 3pubs are quite used to bikers.

Hi Zzr

I suppose it depends on what type of event you want.

Camping , bunkbarn , pub b&b , b&b , hotel.

If you want some seclusion . The population of the Highlands of Scotland is just over 200k .

In Cumbria there are more sheep registered than people . Pop under 500k. We have several excellent rugby club venues for rallies but you're gonner need a couple of hundred peeps. I know several country pubs that will cater for small gatherings , up to 50 peeps.

Problem is getting people to go . Even Kiss is lucky to get 100 peeps turning up on the day.

Then of course there is the bikes versus cars debate.

The only way to guarantee a quality weekend is to do it yourself. That way ya get everything ya want .sunshine optional .
