This is my main bugbear.

Saying you're going to an event and just not turning up is plain bad manners.

It should be noted in your calendar, so 'forgetting' is not a valid excuse.

A lot of peeps don't show due to various last minute reasons eg shite weather, but how difficult is it to remove yourself from the event!

As your profile says you have attended the event, by not removing yourself, you are making yourself out to be a liar.

We all forget things frome time to time hun, its easy done. I am usually pretty good at remembering to take my piccie down if I can't attend something. Its a different story however if you put yourself down to attend and actually have no intention of turning up.

rowan wheres the crazy hair gone I love that hair , yes it is a thing to try to remember, but I write everything on my calendar so I don't get confuddled which is quite easy done in my little odd world. its just if theres limited spaces for people and people cant be added cos numbers have been reached then people don't turn up when others could have gone that would be most annoying to me I thinks but yep we all do forget stuff from time to time

Bringing this back on topic.......

If you regularly organise biking events in your neighbourhood - from small ride outs, BBQs, pub visits etc... up to festival level.... then we want to hear from you.

Please help us compile the most extensive motorcycling events calendar in the UK.

Volunteers from all over the UK are needed - particularly around the outskirts and corners of the UK.

If you're interested in putting your name down, please email me via the Contact page....

Thanks
Matt

Problem with International events very few people ride their bikes very far so for some anything past their local biker cafe is a a novelty (why they spend so much time on here LOL )

I have posted 2 events for next year all being that one is for Triumph owners only and have a 3rd one in the works.  I'm happy to take as many trips abroad as anyone wants but it costs a lot of money for me to do..

Always open to offers and I keep stating I'd help anyone but it's always left to me to push it along and sort in the end.

Very true madscots events dont just happen they take a lot of planning and background work to make it a great time for all.
One thing that has really pissed me of in the past is
"why are all the events in the midlands ?"
So come on if you want events in your area get stuck in, if your not confident in doing it all yourself just ask for some help from the events team. We will help as much or as little as you need.
You can always offer help at events from Marshaling on ride outs to helping at the Kiss rally. Just a simple thing of going up to a new member at a meet and say Hi Im xyz makes the site a great place to be.

I'll happily sling events I hear about at the calendar, and even pitch in on events I attend. I've got a well marked up pan and I'm a fair marshal, but I can't commit to anymore than that right now unfortunately!

oooh Stutts, calm down... I think ya luvverly!! Wink

Nowt wrong wiv you southern folk ... a bit strange drinking flat beer but other than that you are all very nice, well at least those I have met!

Heck I even did a couple of days in London this week - escorted by another northern gal and we survived the tube so all is brilliant darn sarf!

Right, back on topic ... many people are 'unofficial' event organisers and as such I take my hat off to them.  Due to the geography of the country the events are often quite localised so perhaps things are occasionally 'missed' (?)  There is quite a lot going on in the North with rideouts and events but in all honesty I dont often look for anything in the South but I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself during the recent trip to The Ace and Loomies, it was a shame that there werent more takers from the North.  Perhaps we need to try again in the Spring?

@GBNP when you was in London you should have let me know because you must have been in some dodgy pubs if you got flat beer, unless the barman said to himself "i can give northern girls any old muck, because they drink tetley's and boddingtons".

I could have taken you to some lovely pubs with some great beers.

PS, Don't tell Stutts that he's luvverly!!, he gets all big headed and struts around like a peacock.

Pmsl @Ragnar, we will be having a get together in the Spring for a long weekend i think, so will probably give you a shout, your expertise n knowledge will be very welcome, thanks for the offer. Can you keep up with a glam, pretty blonde beer swilling female fire officer, a bohemian bombeshell and a mad burd with crazy hair?? Btw, I NEVER touch Tetleys or Boddys ...YUK!

We actually found some great pubs, proper pubs with great atmosphere. So all was good, the flat beer comment was mainly aimed at Stuie as he dont like his beer with a head on, he always complains up here about it **chuckles** I must admit I drank 80' and Doom Bar and had no complaints twas reet tasty lad!!

Stutts can strut as much as he wants ... I love peacocks, i have a couple in my garden regularly!! He has my vote, a real nice geezer. Lol.
