Sat 26th April to Sunday 4th May 2014
A trip to Germany with runs along the Rhine, local roads and Nurburgring.
Staying
in Altenahr which is 6Km or so from start/finish of Nurburgring. 30mins
ride to Rhine and sits in the middle of some of the best biking roads
in Europe.
Fantastic rooms and secure bike area for storing bikes at night.
Good bar with German beer and food with a fantastic buffet breakfast each morning.
Rooms TBC for 2014 prices:
Twin or Double Room around 36 euros (around £30)
Shared rooms around 26 euros (around £22)
Costs of rooms also covers guided tour by owners and a picnic (organised riot lol) picnic is weather dependent.
New for 2014
I plan on spending first 3-4 days in Altenahr then move down for a few days in the Black Forrest. Then we will ride back up to Bikerloft on Saturday 3rd before catching ferry home on 4th.

Bike
You need all your docs (originals) on you
Ins/breakdown to cover riding over there (i have mine through bike policy)
make
sure bike is serviced and low mileage tyres (plenty tread), My bike
will be in garage for new tyres and a service which includes a
full check. this means I know it's about 100% as I can make it before i
go.
Riding over there
Maps or sat nav (in case you lose the group)
I pay fuel through cards and keep euros as a just in case
Mobile numbers are swapped with me on ferry
make sure said mobile works abroad, if unsure call your provider (a must)
ride on right
first time bikers abroad are best as close to front as possible
bikers with unfaired/semi faired bikes are best also up front until away from coast due to side winds sometimes
faster/bigger cc bikes to rear as they have to work hardest to keep up.
I
carry air pump, tyre weld, puncture repair and a decent first aid kit
that anyone can ask to use. I designate a rear end bike so that if
your are in front of me or behind them your not my problem.
You do not need
Hi viz vest/jacket
Breathalyser
Warning triangle
Bulb Kit
You can carry these items if you wish but they are not required
The only law (which is French) is refective stickers on your lid and we will be in France for 25mins at most. We will also not be traveling at night so I do not put any of it on my lid (again your call)
Some runs from last year
