I am on 2 till 10 shift this week. So leaving london at 10:30 for my trip home to maidstone i was accompanied for a good part of the trip down the a2 by two snow ploughs. One clearing the middle lane, t'other clearing tne inside lane. Now logic dictates the plough in the middle lane chucks the snow into the inside lane and the plough in that lane clears it onto the hard shoulder.
No, the plough on the inside lane was a good 200 yards in front clearing the snow from the inside lane onto the hard shoulder and the other plough was coming up behind filling the inside lane back up again.
Never have i seen such a pointless waste of time and effort, let alone money on something that surely anyone could see wasn't working.
Made for an 'interesting' ride home though. Cars and bikes were abandoned everywhere and breakdown lorries were just picking them up and carting them off, another fortune to be made by charging people to get their vehicles back.
Anyhow rant over, thankyou for listening, i feel much better now.

Wow!  That really is daft!  No wonder this country comes to a grinding halt when muppets are working like that :O   Glad you got home ok though.  :)   and I couldn't abandon my bike, no way!  I'd just sit there and freeze with it!  lol

I don't understand why, when expecting snow like that, people in cars don't carry snow chains for their tyres so they don't get stuck that badly?   No I wouldn't abandon my wee bike either MJN Smile just off on it now to work so hope I don't get stuck haha!
