Is it possible to get caught speeding by these things if you're on a bike , given that we have only rear number plates and nothing at the front for them to photograph ? Just something I've always been unsure of and have exceeded the limit in these areas on numerous occasions (somewhat nervously) without being done for it (YET) .Would be good to know ,one way or the other

the ones on the M6 catch you from the rear but the specs cameras like on the A77 in ayrshire and the A616 in yorkshire are all forward facing - you cannot get caught on a bike by them.

Some people reckon that if you change lanes whilst traveling through an average speed reading zone they can't get an accurate measurement but I don't know if there's any truth in that or how its supposed to make any difference, anybody else heard this one? Maybe its just an 'urban myth'.

Have also heard that one, but if the cameras are all linked to the same system then surely it wont matter if you change lane

I'm sure I read somewhere that bikers have been done for speeding via forward facing cameras when they've been identified from clothing or specific markings ont bike etc. might be wrong....

The old system could be tricked by changing lanes not the new one and not all the cameras will be live in road works or the a77 the system is linked to a box within the road area and its a DVD type disc that holds all the info for prosecution

Some of the forward facing cameras also have a rear facing cctv camera. the forward facing record your average speed whilst the rear facing identify you. Changing lanes makes no difference.
