Well that's a really interesting point PD... and considering that Lamble was an instructor in the States, where cruisers & chops are far more prevalent than any other style of bike, then perhaps it's not surprising that counter steering was included as part of basic training?
What is somewhat surprising though, is that it took until your post to point out that counter steering on such bikes is not done via the handlebars, but via the foot pegs.
This thread has been really informative and hopefully useful for experienced riders as well as the newbies and wannabes among us. Professional training has got to be the way to go though, rather than taking any post in isolation and dashing out to try the technique on your pride & joy
