Using the motorway certainly has its advantages but you probably went on some much nicer roads than the M1, M18 and A1!   I *think* we were there around 6ish, maybe 7ish.

If you wear the right gear (and theres enough of it about at reasonable prices {not £100's}) riding a modern bike on modern tyres is a JOY even in the RAIN I know its a bit of an "old bone" but when I started out, I couldn't afford a leather jacket or a Belstaff/Barbour So it was ex RAF greatcoat for wet/winter riding It weighed a 'ton' when it got wet, and when it snowed it was like a sheet of hardboard Keep on truckin guys an gals, its neva bin easier  in spite of those who TRY to make it hard Em                                                                                                                                                                              

Another impromptu ride out to the Vic at Coalville tonight..oooohhh what joy..what joy!  Was chuffed as there were only two lady bikers there and I was one of them! Did my DAS training today for Module 1   ...... I loved every minute of it shame the Agency cancelled all tests tomoro.....got to do it nxt week now!

Despite my ankle I managed to get back onto Mini V tonight and escort John on his Deauville to MFN...otherwise he would have never found his way there!!!!

  Yes but it's probably accurate Wills lol Most guys I've pillioned with lose their way, one guy got lost even tho he'd programmed his sat nav. There should be a warning on those sat navs 'must be programmed correctly before setting off otherwise it's a waste of time' =============   Boy was it easier to ride a bigger bike!!!!    BC in what way was it easier to ride? Do you mean easier to manoeuvre, or more comfy or both or summat else? Just curious.                                                                                                                                                                             

Sat Navs need chucking in the bin..the silly woman has no flipping idea where she is going and if she does she takes you the longest way round possible..I once went on EMB run...and we were supposed to go to Whitby..the lead biker had a sat nav....some hours later we ended up in Doncaster..I managed to direct them to Hull instead as we had run out of time! No maps no sat nav..once I learn a route I normally remember it...

My late husband was notorious for being a dumb blonde..he never knew where he was going..the only route he ever remembered was the easy A6 route to Matlock Bath..bless! PMSL!

Bigger bikes...are much smoother to operate..they have much more power so you can get better stability when maneouvering at slow speeds particularly useful for the new Module 1...also when coming into a bend you have the acceleration to get out of a bend much much smoother...Also I have difficulty getting up to speed quick enough (despite thrashing Mini V!) whereas with a bigger bike this is instantaneous! I also can manage to do the required national speed limit whereas on Mini V if there is a hill or any form of gradient she struggles...and I often cant get there!  I also feel more confident cos Ive got some power if I need it to get me out of any tricky situation..for instance..the other day...a car did pull out on me I managed to accelerate out of trouble (instructor dead impressed with my avoidance technique!).  To top it all....the weight made no different once you was on the move..in fact the Honda I was on the other day was smaller and lighter than my Mini V so it was easy to maneouvre for parking etcetera...

My Mini V snatches in 1st gear so I have to use 2nd in traffic a lot...which is hard work...also I get wrist ache from constantly having to open and shut down the throttle..with a bigger bike I get neither of these!

I just can't wait to get my own bigger bike now....I am pleased that I was sensible and got the biggest 125 around so I got used to riding and maneouvering a heavy bike from the onset...ask Jansky she loves her Varadero too...would recommend one to anyone! (By the way hopefully she will be up for sale soon! FINGERS CROSSED!!)

Clocked more than 5k on Mini V this week...when I got her on 10th May she had 1700...and I have not ridden this week much or the week of half term..but at least she has been ridden a lot and not looked at lol

Well been to Squires and back the very long way ....over to Melton Mowbray a few times...up to Knypersly a few times...all over Derbyshire....I use her instead of the car if I go into town...much cheaper and I don't have to pay parking! I ride her as much as possible....when I get another bike...will have to get one with as low mileage as possible...because I will be riding that one as well...want to make up for all those years I was forced to be a pilly and discouraged to ride myself....hoping to do some touring abroad next year..(if I can loan out girls!! LOL)

Ironbutt...I sure have PMSL....but Mini V is very very comfortable..if anyone is tall enough to have one...I would recommend it as a Lplate bike anyday...Mini V will be missed when I eventually have to say goodbye!!!

5178 miles on the clock less 1700 is 3478 and done another 98 today....still loving every minute of it...
