I have the Garmin Zumo 550 and as I ride all year round in whatever weather we get I'm glad it is waterproof. I've been caught out in some proper storms and the satnav has been absolutely soaked. No doubt if it wasn't waterproof it would have been wrecked.

I hear that the mounting on the TomTom V1 is a bit flaky and has resulted in a few units flying off and getting smashed on the road - the V2 was meant to have been improved. I tried the V2 before I bought mine and as I was using it in my old car quite a bit (45,000 miles last year) I found the Zumo easier to get on with and it came with all the car mounts as well in the box.
