As long as your bike is taxed you will be fine Ian not had a disc on my bike for 4 years

sorry JP, you are incorrect, i have a close friend who works for the police, it is a fineable offence to not display your tax disc, so even like my case the bike is taxed if not displayed the bike is not legal to be on the road, so i hope you dont get pulled as you could get fined ! It must be displayed. Road Traffic Licencing Act 1965, as amended
in 1992 and 2006. Licence must be displayed in prominent position,
where it can be easily read. It is an offence to conceal it in any
way.Leading to a sixty pound fine if not displayed.
JP
get a life thay have more important thing to worry about so as long as you dont give them a load of verble or are riding like a tw*t thay are not bothered to stop every bike to see if it is on disply as long as it is taxed the in car system WILL leave you alone

Get a life ? was that pointed at me or the police, i am just saying it as it is, its the law to display your tax disc jp, and as a police contractor the last thing i want is to be breaking the law !

isnt a loud bike breaking the law..lol
JP
So your Very loud pipes dont count then

What counts as "too loud" and what is the penalty??. Is it as bad as not displaying a tax disc???
JP
I think you will find the too loud is 105Db and the penalty could be the bike/car being crushed under ASBO rules but would that happen probly not, unless as I said before you give them a mouthfull and give them reson to prove a point
Deleted Member
there not loud....its a illusion JP, i would probably not risk riding without a tax disc, but i understand your point, and re the pipes my bike always goes through the mot with legal pipes on.... then taken off again, and loud pipes do saves lives, apart from the pipes, number plate the bike is legal, but yes jp i dont think they would bother as the bike would still come up through anpr as taxed.

You've got to catch a copper on a really bad day for him to do you for that kind of stuff, or, as has been said, give them verbal or some other reason to make an issue of it.

true it's an offence not to display, and as has been said you'd have to give them grief. I used to send out the summons in the police and often had failed to display tax disc on
