Well sort of, I've helped sponsor him in the past. So we get regular updates on his Facebook page. Also the Lichfield chronicle has back page updates on Gary Mason a local lad. In regional newspapers operating on tight budgets, a motorcycling column depends very much on whether a member of the editorial staff is a biker - or motorcyclist of you prefer - and is prepared to take it on. Just about every paper has its motoring correspondent and they often include a few bits and pieces of biking news, but if they don't ride a bike themselves they'll be found out very quickly.

The one who wrote about a fellow biker putting two fingers up to speed cameras in Derbyshire because they were facing the wrong way to pick up the registration number?   You ought to be strung up, you journos. It’s the fact that the pic has been cropped too much that makes it look nonsensically incongruous; the Councillor is kneeling next to tyre tracks in the mud.
