Lochness is a fair old hike and at least £150.00 petrol money, there and back. Seems to me that's a lot of dosh for two hard days in the saddle and one day out, so,,,,,,,   I propose,                riding up to Fort Augustas[southern end of the loch] on Tuesday 16th July.   On the Fri/sat we can strike camp and move up to Bunchrew campsite to meet ,,,, Sunseandfun and the rest of his party .[if we move on Friday we can steal the best pitches, shh]   Tesco Carlisle to Ft. Augustas 230 miles [100 mtrs from M6 jct43]   Tesco Carlisle to Asda Dumbarton 111 miles [1000 mtrs A82]   Asda Dumbarton to Morrisons Ft. William 90 miles [200 mtrs A82]   Morrisons Ft. William to Fort Augustas 30 miles. [fuel to spare]   These distances are more than comfortable on any bike , supermarket fuel and food prices.   This route will take in the majesty and beauty of Glencoe ooohhh.   Cumberlands campsite is a biker friendly site with free hot showers and is in the town of Ft. Augustas.  Pubs restaurants and a chipy , all within  a 200mtr walk/stagger.     If this floats your boat please copy and paste your name to the list,,,,  Dusty x     Dustin666

It sounds like you have manflu. I recommend www.manflu.info/index.htm for lots of helpful medical advice.

Dustin you had better take a lead on this and get it online as an event.

It might even be worth looking at the option of making a week of it. If you are planning to ride up Tuesday then why not take Monday off work too and head up at the weekend.
Camping at the Red Squirrel and beers in the Clachaig anyone?

The midges will be out by then though and Glencoe specialises in them. Don't buy jungle formula midge repellant, they thinks it's a marinade and can't resist it.

Glencoe midges are specially trained to target the English. I've tried pleading that I'm part Welsh and a little bit Irish, but it doesn't work. We hardly stand a chance!
Just never lift the visor on your lid., OK?

At the present , Tues to Fri sounds OK . I just want an idea of numbers. On the Sunday [20th] some of sunseaandfun's party are traveling to John o' Groats for a couple of days [only 100and odd mile away] so, It's possible to extend ss&f's origional trip either way . [any one for a fortnight] This could be ''monumental'' or the usual half dozen members that visit Caledonia.  I've had a chat with the site owner so I'll post an 'event' now .   Less 'talktalk' more 'bikebike'Thumbs Up   Those interested in attending , copy, paste and add your name . x   LOCHNESS THE PREQUEL   DUSTIN666 KWAKGIRL [DEBS]

Hiya Lynn x
A weeks supply of kit for a bloke = the clothes he's wearing.

A months supply of kit for a bloke = the clothes he's wearing , plus, a small bottle of febreeze . Lol

your pillion seat can support 15stone. So,,, a giant holdall with your kit in bin bags .
Bungees are ok to position your gear in place. BUT, use luggage straps (cambuckles) to lock it in place.

My bike tents are all 3-4 berths coz I take shedfulls of junk and I'm an untidy bugger .
I could always find room for a maid , wearing a french maids outfit , phwoar.
OMG , I've turned into a dirty old man . Inevitable realy , when one starts off being a dirty young man lol

cambuckles, mine were from Heine Gericke, but ebay or amazon should be ok .
I'd be careful about wearing a ' dinosaur onesie' at Loch Ness , especially if you sneak out of your tent in the dark for an al fresco wee, those Nessie hunters have long lenses. Lol
