after using the portable sleeping shelter (i hate that 'tent' word) at friskney i had to pack it away still wet. now before anybody gets too excited and thinks i have become a jolly camper this is purely for reference purposes. now just assuming that maybe, maybe i may possibly want to use the aforementioned piece of temporary residential equipment again next year coz it certainly ain't coming out again this year in the cold and rain ffs, what is the best way to store it over winter. obviously i need to dry it out (maybe with an oxy-acetylene torch, or better still a superheater) but anything else i need to know? cheers guys.

I tend to open mine out in the garage if damp weather but on the line if dry and sunny.
Fold it up bag it and stick it on a shelve if kept in garage, known lots of folk who have had mice chew through bag and make it there permanent home.

so you don't fancy a winter rally up in Scotland then.

At least i got one sensible answer. Cheers sweeney. As for scotland, hopefully on the cards for next september, as long as none of my other offspring decide to have babies when i am meant to be going away.

just make sure wherever u store it is dry and rodent free. mine goes in the loft.....also i dont store it in the bag....its rolled up loosely.

As Kwakgirl says I make sure mine is totally dry and LOOSELY roll it up(after doing any minor repairs like replacing frayed guy-ropes) and store mine in loft.Bags of space up there so I put it in 2 separate rolls, bag of poles and pegs with it as well. Used my current tent since TT 2005,no problems yet!
