Way back in the seventies when still at school(honest!) I was listening to all the usual stuff like slade, T-rex, Mud. Untill one saturday afternoon when listening to Alan "fluff" Freemans request show he played "Achilles Last stand" from Led zeppelins "Presence" Album. It blew me away. Shocked I couldn't believe what i'd been missin. Never looked back since. Waderin if anyone else has had a eureka moment like that? Stopping off at Devil's Bridge, Kirkby Lonsdale in 1976 (age 12) and feeling like I'd just discovered who I was. Was there yesterday after a 200 mile run out with my fella, the sun was shining, the place was heaving and it still feels as good going there Big smile

In 1973, at the grand old age of 15, I met my mate Sue, who was heavily into Rock n Roll, and she introduced me to her local pub 'The St Mary's Arms' at Fratton in Portsmouth. I've been hooked on rock n roll ever since. The resident band was Shazam, lead singer Pete Presley.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v-mRcsxxHPg9U

Thought the first live gig (Gillan @ Newcastle City Hall) was awesome until I had my first outing to the Monsters of Rock at Donnington (can't remember the Year).  Just the whole atmosphere blew me away.  Album-wise...gotta be 2112 by Rush, can't get enough of that album.

Greetings to you all.   If Achilles last stand doesn't make your back bone tingle not much will. Mettalica's Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters with a little Il Divo's Isabelle thrown in for good measure (yeh don't laugh) does it for me.
